The grandeur of New College's first High Table Dinner of 2024 illuminated the evening with a sense of anticipation and camaraderie. Master Amy Chow's opening words set the stage for an unforgettable night of connection and celebration.
As students and faculty gathered for the sumptuous dinner, the air was filled with laughter and lively conversations, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encapsulated the spirit of New College.
Amidst the delightful meal and the joyous mingling, a special highlight awaited the attendees – a touching talk our guests from the Rise Wise Foundation, Ms. Dayna Lim and Ms. Anthea Yung. This foundation, a beacon of support for children and adolescents with diverse needs, shared their invaluable work with therapy dogs, bringing comfort and companionship to those in search of solace.

Dayna and Anthea from Rise Wise Foundation shared insights into their programs designed to nurture growth and learning in a compassionate environment. Their dedicated team of behavioural therapists, trained in cutting-edge methodologies such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB), showcased the importance of tailored support for every individual.

Following the enlightening talk, attendees were given a unique opportunity to interact with the therapy dogs from Rise Wise. These furry companions, with their gentle presence and loving nature, provided a moment of relaxation and joy for everyone present, reinforcing the power of animal-assisted therapy in promoting well-being and emotional connection. We also got a chance to witness the talent of our New College community in high gear, with singing and dance performances!
As the evening progressed, a heartwarming exchange of gifts took place between New College and Rise Wise. Master Amy Chow graciously presented the guests from Rise Wise with a token of appreciation, symbolizing the bond formed between the two communities.
In a gesture of reciprocity, Rise Wise delighted Master Amy Chow and Senior Tutors Kevin and Tai with a special gift, a gesture of gratitude for the warm welcome and meaningful interactions shared during the evening.
