Last February 9th, the High Table Dinner brought our New College community together in a heartwarming celebration of tradition, elegance, and camaraderie. It was an evening where every face around the table shone with enthusiasm and mutual respect—a true testament to what makes our college feel like home.

The dinner wasn’t just about sharing a meal; it was a chance for us to connect on a deeper level. With everyone dressed to the nines in their business attire (yes, even the ties and formal shoes made an appearance!), the atmosphere buzzed with excitement, yet also carried a respectful tone for this dearly cherished tradition.

One of the highlights of the evening was the inspiring address by our guest of honor, Master Amy Chow. Her talk on life and death resonated with many of us, sparking reflections on our personal journeys and the meaningful moments we experience throughout our time at New College. Her words, blending wisdom with warmth, reminded us that every moment—whether filled with laughter or contemplation—adds a unique chapter to our collective story.
Beyond the formalities, the night was a celebration of community spirit. New faces mingled with seasoned residents, and everyone shared in the joy of gathering together. There was a comforting reminder throughout the evening: when we unite, even events that start as traditional ceremonies evolve into memorable experiences full of personal connections and shared inspiration.

In our busy lives, it’s these moments of coming together that help us pause, reflect, and celebrate not just our academic successes, but the human experience itself. As we recall that delightful night, it’s clear that the High Table Dinner is more than an event—it’s a cherished part of our college life that brings us closer as a family.
Here’s to many more evenings of good food, deep conversations, and inspiring insights. Thank you to everyone who made the night unforgettable, and we can’t wait to see you at our next gathering!
